His Strength

“Our work may require greater strength, greater knowledge or greater ability than we seem to possess, or there may greater demands made upon our purse than we can meet. Instead of accepting this apparent lack, let us remember, ‘He performeth the thing that is appointed for me. . . . The Lord will perfect that which concerneth me,’ or some other scriptural passage. The human belief may be that there is a physical, mental, moral, or financial demand made up us greater than our ability to fulfill; but the very moment we turn to that He that is within us, recognizing that He performeth that which is given us to do, He perfecteth that which concerneth us, a weight drops off our shoulders, and the sense of personal responsibility lifts. All of a sudden, are given the necessary ability, which we discover is not our ability at all; it is His ability being expressed through us. Out of our weakness comes strength, but not our strength; it is His strength, and we perform the work through His strength. If it is rest that we need, we turn to Scripture a find: ‘Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.’”

Practising the Presence of God

“Every person who has known dissatisfaction, incompleteness, and frustration will some day learn that there is only one missing link in his entire chain of harmonious living. That is the practice of the presence of God - consciously, daily and hourly, abiding in some great spiritual truth of scripture, and it makes no difference which scripture: Christian, Hebrew, Hindu, Buddhist, Taoist, or Moslem. The Word of God, given to man through inspired saints, sages, seers, or revelators - this is what we need, in any language, from any country, just as long as it is a universal truth.”

Your Contract with Life

"Our Life's mission or Contract, cannot be defined or measured simply by our external life, however.  Your purpose is not only your career or hobby or romantic relationship.  A Contract is your overall relationship to your personal power and your spiritual power.  It is how you work with your energy and whom you give it to.  It is also how much you are willing to surrender to Divine Guidance.  Although a Contract is not the physical details of your life, you can use those details to figure out what your Contract is.  Your life is composed of many facets that shimmer and reflect  both your physical and your internal energy. In attempting to grasp the whole of this reflection, you can discern and define your mission."
